Skype for Business Online customers who move to Teams can continue using their 3PIP phones with some functionality limitations until July 31st, 2023. What does this mean for customers who have 3PIP Phones with Skype for Business Online? This blog post answers questions about Teams support for Skype for Business phones, also known as 3 rd Party IP or 3PIP phones. We recently announced that Skype for Business Online will be retired on July 31, 2021, and we’re encouraging existing customers to start planning their migrations to Teams. ![]() IMPORTANT: Please only refer to the information at the top of this blog that was updated on September 26, 2022, the rest is outdated. We encourage you to make necessary updates as soon as possible because Skype for Business Online will be permanently turned off in July 2023 as previously communicated. Additionally, to aid you with that upgrade we now offer a solution through the Teams SIP Gateway to enable these devices to securely connect and function as Microsoft Teams endpoints. To protect the investment that you have made in Skype for Business Online phones (aka 3PIP phones), we extended support until 31st July 2023 to give you enough time to upgrade.
